Tube mills produce pipe and tube by taking a continuous strip of material and continuously roll forming until the edges of the strip meet together at a weld station. At this point the welding process melts and fuses the edges of the tube together and the material exits the weld station as welded tube. Basic components include an uncoiler, straightener, shear, forming section, fin pass section, welder, ID and/or OD scarfing, sizing section, cut off and stacker or runout table.
Each pass in the various sections are made up of a upper and lower shaft that contains roller die tooling which forms the steel strip gradually into a round shape or square if it is a form square / weld square type of mill. This gradual shaping process is commonly referred to as the flower arrangement.
ASP can provide you a turn-key solution for all your New, remanufactured and used tube mill needs.
A tube mill will consist of the following components:
Forming section (Entry guides, Breakdown passes, Fin passes)
Welding section
Sizing section
Cut-off section
Our tube mills can accommodate from .375” to 6.0” O.D. round or up to 2” x 18” rectangle. shapes, from .018” to .250” thick material, in carbon or stainless steel. Our systems utilize ERW in contact or induction, TIG and laser welding stations. All components are heavy-duty mill type construction with large O.D. shafting for tooling yielding rock solid performance. We offer AC or DC drives and manual or automatic servo controls in speeds from 20 to 500 FPM. We also offer dimple free flying cut-offs as well as flying cold friction saws for maximum throughput. If higher capacity is a requirement, an accumulator can be provided in vertical and horizontal configurations for continuous operation.
Our current equipment includes:
6” x 6” to 2” x 2” Square & Retangular x .125” to .250” Wall W3.5 Yoder w/Thermatool Welder, Turksheads, Flying Saw
1.75” to 3” Square x .136” to .060” Wall M2.5 Yoder w/Welder
30’ Diameter Horizontal Sendzimir Accumulator
